2.3 number of options for Mishima

New patch un-locked several new list ideas built around specific heroes. I did 10+ lists since the release but decided to share only two. Both very different from each other. First list is all about shooting. Second one is CC oriented. Both are built to benefit from two new heroes' "gifts". Hiroko's +1ST and Masaru's preemptive strike.

Nobou Hiroko +1ST for regular tambu rifles is not massive when we take Hiroko's cost into consideration. He is an expensive hero. 25 points more than i.e. Bushido Master or 30 than Hamasaki Taro (both support heroes with offensive potential). His +1 ST makes a 5% difference between failing to wound and wounding. To benefit Mishima has to commit a ton of points on tambu shots. That is why Hiroko's retinue has to be mostly light infantry. Ashigaru and Crimson Devils. There are 37 tambu in this list and 10 HMG's. Both lead and psychic. 3 ashigaru mortar teams are there to support or to set cover screens (which Hiroko's Kyudo can ignore to a certain degree). Dragonbikes and Shadow Walkers help to get table control and to slow enemy down from engaging into CC. Shadow Walkers are also a CC support but the number of Crimsons allows then to fight at close range with GR too.

I see Ki-infused ammo, +3R tactical card or Medal of Honour as something to consider in a deck for this list.

Second list is all about close combat. The main idea is to get into CC as fast as possible. When I usually use Kunshu they have no real support as their main goal (sadly) is to tank damage. This list support them with Ebon Guard in an open-topped CTL armoured carrier, Ronin Samurai and Shadow Walkers. Those units might not only support and distract enemy units from fighting only dragons but also might benefit from stun Kunshu could serve to the enemy.

There is an option to replace 2 Kunshu with 3 Dragonbikes if we want a bit more fire support and fast blocking unit. Bikes can move 27"+1" into CC with enemy infantry to hold them down there for a turn to allow other units a safe CC access in a following turns.

I am still not sure how to distribute Ki between units in this list. This is because Bushido can be attached to either Kunshu or ebon. I think more flexible option would be to give Kunshu Psychic Mastery (B) and Sai no Kawa but I will leave it up to You to choose which one You like more. You can also try to squeeze in +2CC Ki if You take out +1WP out of Ebon.

Few more words about Bushido and why I took him for this list. Bushido does two things. He either support other units with Ki (+2ST for Kunshu, remeber he has a Boost (1/3) so he can keep up with dragons) or works as a shooty/CC support for Ebon guard. He can sit in a mule and shoot with Hekina on a road to CC or smash things with PSY CC weapon when already engaged.

There should be Charge!, Banzai Charge! added to a deck for sure. I would also add a tactical that gives a unit Predator Sense to boost ronin samurai when in range but out of sight to the enemy.
